Since its debut, the Adidas Yeezy Foam Runner has been working its way to becoming a mainstay in sneaker culture. Since the sneaker first touched shelves, the Foam Runner has been wrapped in relatively muted colors. Most notably, the signature tan/beige colorway appears in Yeezy’s catalog and is present on one of the silhouette’s iterations. To break away from that trend, the brand is working on a new “Navy” colorway.
We first got a look at the “Navy” rendition of the Adidas Yeezy Foam Runner earlier this year, when images surfaced online. From what we were able to see, the shoe takes on a monochromatic appearance, rather than a dynamic one, and is dressed in all navy blue. Throughout its blue upper, the shoe also has ridges and dips that help add a dynamic feeling while staying true to the monochromatic look.
The navy blue look, paired with the ridges and dips, adds a flair of character to the sneaker that isn’t often brought out by any of the muted colorways. The way the dips and ridges provide shadows for the navy gives the illusion that they are darker, but a deeper look proves that isn’t the case.
We only got word of this sneaker earlier this year and do not have any additional, official release information. We honestly don’t know if the shoe will arrive this summer or next winter. Since we just got quality photos of the pair, my money’s on sooner rather than later. Let’s hope the price tag doesn’t boast too high of a number.
