Is It Time For The Yeezy Boost 350 V2s To Be Cancelled?

Here’s The Problem With The Adidas Shoe!

Yeezy 350 v2

There’s no denying that Kanye West and Adidas have continuously worked to create one of the hottest sneaker models in today’s day and age. Yet, lately, it feels as if there’s been an issue with the Yeezy Boost 350 V2.

The Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 silhouette initially had its debut in 2016, releasing the “Beluga” colorway in September. The V2 brought improvements to the original 350 model, opting for a transparent sole and complete visibility of the boost material within the shoe, among other changes.

When it was initially released, the V2 model brought a new layer of freshness to the shoe, as the design was still unique and the colorways were diverse. It was the perfect sneaker for sneakerheads. Unfortunately, things have changed. Although the sneaker has been successful with newer iterations of classic colorways (think: “Triple Black”), there has also been a consistent stream of mediocre 350 V2s. In fact, there was an influx of them near the end of 2019 into 2020 (most failed to switch things up). “Cloud White” and “Cinder” were poor attempts at bringing back the glory of classics. And, the “Citrin” and “Lundmark” colorways did little to separate themselves from one another, being practically the same.

The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 has officially become formulaic. Now, most drops have little hype, and each colorway only dabbles in a new base color. While there have been some unique releases to gain attention, such as the “Yecheil” colorway (a multicolored fabric complimented by black undertones), most have become too simple.

If nothing changes about the Yeezy Boost 350 V2, it may see a decline. Not only are consumers becoming more attracted to other Yeezy Boost models, but the lack of creativity from designers is also not leaving many happy. If they don’t change anything, the 350 V2 model could possibly die out. There might be some hope (shown by the diversity and uniqueness of the “Yecheil” colorway)! Yet, the team needs more interesting designs, rather than simple and quick releases.
