Travis Scott has been working his ass off for the past few years, constantly locking in collaborations with Nike while juggling a music career and various other collaborative efforts. This work has obviously paid off for him. Scott’s latest collaboration is his rendition of the Air Max 1, which is dressed in the “Wheat” colorway and is expected to arrive during the holidays.
Scott’s rendition of the Air Max 1 is nothing new, initially seeing a reveal back in March, but the “Wheat” colorway is something that’s fresh to sneakerheads. It is made up almost entirely of wheat yellow, save for certain sections with lighter, more muted waffled stitching. This creates a simple look that still catches the eye, a look that is accentuated by the brown accents & black rope laces. Nike and Cactus Jack branding are seen on the heel, reminding onlookers of who brought these sneakers to life.
Personally, I’m a fan of the Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 “Wheat.” Scott has been making sure to capitalize on his name by releasing new collaborations every few months, so I can excuse the simple design. Besides, this isn’t a just simple look that loses points for being subtle.
