2021 has not been a year for collaborations; instead, brands are mostly keeping their designs and releases in-house. Bape and Adidas, two brands very familiar with collaborations, are going against the grain and defying this trend—the Bape x Adidas Superstar “Green Camo” is planned for a May release.
Prior to this collaboration, the two brands teamed up on sneakers like the Bape x Adidas Superstar Skate. Bape’s latest rendition of the Adidas Superstar coats the upper in its signature camo branding. The back ankle is dressed in white, blending in with the Bape star swoosh on the side of the shoe. The laces are also white, contrasting the camo underneath. The signature Adidas three stripes are also seen on the side of the shoe, alongside other branding across the shoe. The sole and toe box are made of a cream white rather than solid white, adding a dynamic look to the sneaker.
The new collaborative effort is scheduled to arrive on shelves on May 7th, retailing for $190 USD. With the prominence of Bape, it’s no surprise that the price tag is fairly high—we’re hoping the sneaker lives up to expectations and gives the consumer a bang for their buck.
The look of the Bape x Adidas Superstar “Green Camo” is a perfect combination of the two brands, showcasing some of their most popular designs on the iconic Superstar silhouette. The camo is the perfect contrast to the white accents, with gold and brown accents further tying the shoe together.
