China Lands a Lunar Probe on ‘Far Side’ of the Moon!

Moon Rover Yutu-2

China has become the first nation in the world to land its moon rover, Yutu-2, on the dar-FAR side of the moon (previously described as the “dark side”). After its last rover ceased operation in 2016, China made history a few days ago by landing near one of the oldest craters on the moon. This has big implications!

China will now be able to see what resources are on this side of the moon, the rover will be able to analyze the crater in order to gain insight into the history of the moon, and there is a possibility that pieces will be brought back for further research down here on Earth.

China plans on launching a Mars probe in 2020, and the country plans on having a fully operational space station by 2022. This is an exciting time for China and the world on a whole! What does this mean for space travel in the future? Are we inching ever closer? Check out some of the pictures Yutu-2 took down below and keep it locked to Audibl Wav for any updates.
