High fashion brands have always had their own niche in streetwear culture, but one of the most prominent duos, in recent memory, has been COMME des Garcons and Converse. There’s no way you can forget how insanely popular the Converse CDG became. Although things have died down in the past few years, COMME des Garcons is preparing for a comeback with its take on the Nike Air Foamposite One.
Although past designs tended to be overloaded with CDG hearts, COMME des Garcons’ current take, on the Nike Air Foamposite One, opts for a simpler look. A majority of the upper is dressed in a foamposite shell, with distorted imprints throughout providing an extra layer of texture. The ankle tab is branded in COMME des Garcons lettering, taking on a look similar to that of the overlay on the lace eyelets. Said overlay is finished by miniature holes on the front end, which find themselves alongside a miniature Nike swoosh.
COMME des Garcons’ rendition of the Air Foamposite One will be available in “Black” and “White” (pricing has not been revealed). This new rendition is expected to arrive on Black Friday, of this year, which falls on November 26th. So let’s hope the two brands are able to come through.
