It seems as if the trend of high fashion pioneers collaborating with other brands is continuing into 2020. So, which collab is next? After weeks of speculation, Nike and Dior announced they are officially working together. The two streetwear titans are teaming up to release a pair of luxe Air Jordan 1’s in mid-2020.
First revealed on December 3rd by Travis Scott, the Dior x Air Jordan 1 is a fairly unique piece. To start, the grey and white base is complimented well by the icy blue and white sole. And, surprisingly, the classic winged logo is given a bit of a twist as well (‘Air Dior’ will replaces ‘Air Jordan’). The swoosh is also a highlight of this collaboration as it is highly textured jacquard, repeating the Dior logo over and over to create a clean and unique design. The upcoming Dior x Air Jordan 1 is definitely going to be a grail on everyone’s list! According to @Ovrnundr on Twitter, only 1,000 pairs will be released.
The Dior x Air Jordan 1 sneaker is set to release sometime in April 2020, with a rumored steep retail price of $2,000 USD. If you have the money to spend, make sure you’re on the lookout next year. It is definitely a fire piece!
