Lil Baby has been one of the biggest artists of the year, climbing his way up to the top with a number of different songs and projects this year. He started 2020 with his album My Turn, which was the perfect prelude to his performance this year. Tracks such as “The Bigger Picture” truly helped to solidify his place in rap. Now, his new track, “Errbody,” shows listeners why he is in his current position.
Released on December 3rd, “Errbody” dropped alongside a music video and another single, “On Me,” with Baby bringing fans a one-two punch. On “Errbody,” the Atlanta rapper is supported by booming production from fellow Atlanta native, Section 8. Backed by heavy 808s, hi-hats and violins, Lil Baby is able to come in hot, rapping about his accomplishments with quick, machine gun-esque bars. For three minutes, his fast, powerful bars show why he has been having such a great year. His subject matter is vast on this track, rapping about his status, the people who ride with him as well as his wealth. He refuses to pull any punches on “Errbody,” using his bars to show how well he can keep up with his competition.
Although he doesn’t dive into anything particularly crazy on this track, Lil Baby’s sound and energy (coupled with his fast bars) makes for something special, keeping the listener invested and excited. The Atlanta rapper really has not had any missteps in 2020. On “Errbody,” he showcases the skill and prowess that got him to where he is today.
