Lil Uzi Vert Drops New Music Video for “Closing It”

It seems like the retired rapper is still working from the shadows! Lil Uzi Vert just dropped a music video for his remix to the song “DIP” (by Tisakorean) with “Closing It” — a remix as well. His label, Atlantic Records, continues to take down the video, despite efforts from fans re-uploading it. The Philadelphia-born rapper announced his retirement in early 2019, stating that he is “done with music,” and he has been in-and-out of the spotlight ever since.

A snippet of the song was released mid-way through 2018, generating buzz amongst fans and causing them to crave his music even more. Nobody can blame them; it had been months since Uzi released any new music! The release of the music video on February 17 caught fans by surprise, as Uzi hadn’t been on a song since his feature on Shabazz PBG’s “Shells” late last year. His retirement has seemingly been a protest against his label since the company was preventing him from releasing new music and keeping him trapped. This was proven further with Atlantic’s efforts to take the music video and song off of all platforms. The video, initially uploaded by Jmoney1041 on YouTube, was quickly taken down by the label. Fans began to re-upload the video at a feverish pace, with most attempts being shut down by the label.

As we stated earlier, the song itself is a remix of “DIP” by Tisakorean. That song experienced a fair amount of success, as it was usually the background song for videos displaying the #woahchallenge. Lil Uzi Vert’s take on it is fairly exciting, providing heart-thumping lines such as “Grra-Kada-boom, Lil’ bitch, I’m totin’ it” & “I’ll make you lean, but you ain’t drinkin’ no Fanta.” The music video also helps create an exciting vibe, featuring dancers hanging out and dancing with Lil Uzi Vert in the studio as well as the streets, generally having a good time.

The “Closing It” music video is an exciting piece of entertainment! Despite Atlantic Records trying to take the video down, its continuous uploads have been doing numbers on YouTube and other platforms. It is easily already on its way to being as successful as the original song. With Uzi’s retirement, will this be the last release for the rapper? We sure hope not! Back in December 2018, he announced the completion of his  Eternal Atake album, and despite his claims to have deleted it, fans know that his record label more than likely has a copy. Let us know how you felt about the music video in the comments, and whether or not you want Uzi to come back to bangin’ out more hits!
