Lucki Just Blessed Fans With His Two-Track EP ‘Almost Woke’

Thanks to new music and social media, Lucki has been seeing major success, lately. A number of his tracks have begun to trend on TikTok, helping him continue to build his fan base. Following the success he has seen on the app, and with fans still waiting on his upcoming Flawless Like Me, he decided to quell their uncertainty by releasing Almost Woke (a two-track EP).

Almost Woke released on April 16th, five months after his three-track EP, The World Is Lucki’s. It features two tracks, titled “LifestyleBrazy” and “No Joke.” Although Lucki released two EPs over the course of five months, fans have been waiting for Flawless Like Me since last year, becoming increasingly eager as he releases more music.

The first track, “LifestyleBrazy,” is an exciting glimpse into the Chicago rapper’s personal life, as he raps about his lifestyle as a rich artist. He touches on his cash, drug use, and those who try to fake what he really lives. This is all supported by somber piano keys, which are juxtaposed by booming 808s, both of which are tied together with hi-hats, creating an eccentric beat courtesy of BrentRambo and Andrew Kiessling. Although the track is fast and fun, the runtime is a little short, coming in at 2:11. The short runtime is filled with production that’s just under 30 seconds, so it’d be nice to see an extension.

The second track, “No Joke,” takes a more low-key approach to its production, as it is eerie and peppered with synths. Lucki once again raps about his extravagant lifestyle on “No Joke,” talking about how much money he makes and how he is levels above those around him. He doesn’t get too deep on this track, but his flow matches the beat well and makes for a fun listen.

Lucki’s new EP, Almost Woke, helps quell some of the anxiety about his upcoming album, Flawless Like Me, showing how much progress Lucki has made since his last full-length project, Almost There. This tape is a great buffer while fans wait for the album; we hope that it gets here soon since a two-track EP will likely get old fast.
