Metro Boomin’ and 21 Savage Are Finally Releasing ‘Savage Mode 2’

Metro Boomin' and 21 Savage releasing new album

Fans have been itching for Metro Boomin’ and 21 Savage to release the follow up to their album Savage Mode, going as far as to create a petition on Change.org demanding for the album. The two rappers have answered the pleas of their fans, announcing on the night of September 28th that the album is on the way.

Metro Boomin’ confirmed that Savage Mode 2 is set to release on October 2nd. Coming four years after the original, he announced the album by uploading a promotional video to Twitter. Directed by Gibson Hazard, the video features Metro & 21 Savage working on the album and having fun while doing so. As veteran actor Morgan Freeman narrates the video, we hear that: “Savage is defined as fierce, beastly and untamed. Mode is defined as a way of operating or using the system. So, to be in Savage Mode is to go hard, not allowing anything to stop or deter you from your mission. Basically, this means when someone is in Savage Mode… they are not to be fucked with.” As the promotional video plays out, a snippet is previewed featuring 21 Savage rapping quickly over a trap beat.

The original Savage Mode featured nine tracks, all executively produced by Metro Boomin’, so it is safe to assume that Savage Mode 2 will feature a tracklist somewhere within that range, hopefully even higher. Metro Boomin’ and 21 Savage have partnered with each other a number of times in the past. Aside from Savage Mode, the two have worked together on Metro Boomin’s 2018 NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES. The album was Metro’s official debut and was stacked—featuring artists such as Travis Scott and Swae Lee. Out of the 13 tracks, 21 Savage is seen on “Don’t Come Out the House” and “10 Freaky Girls.”

Because of the chemistry that 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’ have, Savage Mode 2 will likely turn out to be a great album. The two have been working on it for some time now, refining their sound throughout the creation and rollout process—hopefully the album is able to appeal to a vast amount of listeners. Fans are excited for Savage Mode 2, commending the production of the promotional video and expressing that they are happy it is finally releasing. Are you excited?
