Nike Dunk Low “Veneer” Returns After 19 Years

Dunk Low Veneer

Nike has always been a brand that works to get the most out of its content, as shown by how much clothing they produce and sell each year. If you want evidence, take a look around you—how long does it really take to spot some Nike apparel? This year, especially, has been good for their Nike SB Dunk model, so it is no surprise that they have brought back their Nike Dunk Low “Veneer.”

Initially released back in 2001 as a Japanese exclusive, this 19-year-old sneaker saw a global release on November 10th. During its initial run, the Nike Dunk Low “Veneer” was a part of the Nike Dunk “Ugly Duckling” Pack, which featured two other Dunk colorways. The “Veneer” colorway is crafted from velvet, with the upper made completely of said material. This works well with the three colors shown on the colorway—the design blends relaxed colors with an even more relaxed material to create an appealing look. The green suede overlay is perfect for the fall season, opting for a dark shade that complements the brown undertones. This all sits atop a white midsole, which is supported by a purple outsole to match the purple seen on the Nike swoosh and laces.

Although sneakerheads had to wait 19 years to see a global release, the Nike Dunk Low “Veneer” comes at just the right time. It capitalizes on the current success of the Nike Dunk silhouette while ensuring the colorway’s success with a fall release to match its look. The sneaker has a retail price of $100 USD—the good news is that it’s currently available, so make sure to get your hands on it before it sells out.
