Nike’s New Air Force 1s Show Love To NYC Bodegas

Nike has been one of the great pioneers of sneaker culture, always stepping outside the box and testing the waters. This often results in something refreshing. With the success of NIke’s 2020 bodega Dunks, it’s only right that two new pairs of Air Force 1s drop and show love to the bodegas of New York City.

For those who are unaware, bodegas are small grocery stores or corner stores that are common in NYC. They are often a one stop shop for whatever items are needed, from hot food to desserts and cold drinks.

These two news pairs of Air Force 1s are dubbed “Pink Bag” and “White Bag,” paying homage to the bags of bodegas. The “Pink Bag” colorway is dressed in a light pink upper, matching the rest of the sneaker. The all pink upper sits atop a white sole, which features red “Air” branding with a rose graphic. The same design is seen on the “White Bag” colorway, with the upper being all white. This creates a more cohesive look for the sneaker, with red branding on the tongue tab matching that on the sole, complemented by green.

Although the designs are simple, they make for great sneakers—the lowkey branding helps create a sleek design that shows love to New York City’s simple bodega bags.

Scheduled to release on February 24th, the Nike Air Force 1 “Pink Bag” and “White Bag” are exclusively dropping via Nike SNKRS Japan, retailing for ¥13,200 JPY, which is approximately $125 USD. If you’re in the region, do you plan on getting a pair? Let us know in the comment section.

Unfortunately, as of this writing, a U.S. or NYC release date has not been announced.
