Nike’s SB Dunk Low “VX1000 Camcorder” Skates Right Into March

Nike's SB Dunk Low “VX1000 Camcorder”

Nike has always been intertwined with skate culture—their SB skating branch is one of the most successful imprints of the company. The brand is showing love to the culture by taking its most popular skate shoe, the Nike SB Dunk Low, and styling it in a similar way to the Sony VX1000 Camcorder.

For those who are unaware, the Sony VX1000 Camcorder is a camcorder that was released in 1995. It’s still extremely popular amongst skaters because it’s handheld and helps to capture the perfect video. Even though it’s old, it’s still gold (truly a staple in today’s skate culture).

The Nike SB Dunk Low “VX1000 Camcorder” resembles the camcorder well—the front overlay is dressed in white while the rear overlay shows up in charcoal. The gray undertones match the gray in the toe box, lighting up the shoe among the dark overlays. On these overlays, similar VX1000 lettering is seen with colored eyelets to match its buttons. The back ankle green helps to really bring the shoe together and improve its resemblance to the camcorder. It’s all tied together with black laces that meld well with the charcoal overlay.

Released on February 20th, the shoe closes February out in style. If you didn’t know, it’s exclusive to Europe and Asia’s Nike SB Orange Label skate shops; the U.S. release was cancelled due to issues with production. The sneaker has a price tag of $100, so hopefully it isn’t too hard to get your hands on a pair…if you can.
