Pi’erre Bourne earned his stripes as a producer a long time ago, pioneering his own sound and helping shift the ever changing landscape of hip-hop. As a rapper he has sometimes been overlooked, despite consistently putting in work with projects such as Pi’erre & Cardo’s Wild Adventure and The Life of Pi’erre 4. As he continues to plant his feet in the rap game, he is getting ready to show his prowess with his long-awaited album, The Life of Pi’erre 5.
Fans have been waiting for The Life of Pi’erre 5 for some time now, as the Queens, NY rapper revealed that it’s now been in the works, alongside The Life of Pi’erre 4, for a few years. The album has been expected for a while, but with the track “Switching Lanes” feat. Playboi Carti being leaked, a delay was bound to happen. Fortunately, it’s finally set to arrive on June 11th, with a prelude by “Sossboy 2” feat. Lil Uzi Vert on June 9th.

What are your thoughts on a 16-track project from Bourne? Although some, like “4U” and “Groceries” have already been released as singles, it is still a pretty hefty lineup of tracks. Alongside the album, Bourne confirmed that a “TLOP VLOG DOCUMENTARY WHATEVER WE CALL IT DROP SAME DAY AS ALBUM ITS SO FYE” via Twitter, supplying fans with more than just the music, which is especially exciting after the wait.
Personally, I’m excited for The Life of Pi’erre 5. Bourne has created a lane of his own ever since he stepped onto the scene, which was especially perfected on The Life of Pi’erre 4, as seen with the transitions. With the rapper having time to perfect his sound over the course of the pandemic, hopefully we hear something that blows the rest of the TLOP series out of the water.
