Sandy Liang Pays Homage To The Decades of Yesterday With New Vans Collaboration

Sandy Liang and Vans Collaboration

Sandy Liang is no stranger to fashion, being known for the fuzzy, tomboyish look that helped propel her to new heights in the New York fashion scene. As she continues to rise among the fashion ranks, Liang is working on another collaboration with Vans, which serves as their third venture together.

For this collaboration, Liang has left her mark on various Vans classics, specifically the Vans Sk8–Hi, the Platform 2.0, Authentic, and Half Cab pairs. The Platform 2.0 rendition is dressed in soft, white wrap-around cloth around the ankle, while the base takes on the same black that’s seen on the traditional Sk8-Hi. This sits atop a chunky white sole, which stays true to the name while bringing a sense of familiarity and providing spice.

The traditional Sk8-Hi pair also takes on the black and white color scheme, being accompanied by a warped side stripe, butterfly decals, flowered planetary outlines, and more. If there’s any pair that can think outside the box while still remaining relatively similar to its original counterpart, it’s Liang’s take on the Sk8-Hi.

The Authentic pair of Vans is both relaxed and dynamic, taking on a smooth white base while being contrasted by pastel drawings throughout the upper. These drawings are seemingly drawn in crayon, adding a pop of color while also leaving the mark of youth. This creates a look that can be paired with equally dynamic outfits, as well as something more lowkey (if you want to draw attention to the kicks).

The Half Cab pair is the final one in this collection, but still helps drive things home for Liang and Vans. The upper is dressed in forest green, made of a strong and sharp sherpa, while being complemented by flower-shaped eyelets.

This collection draws on inspiration from flowers and floral art to bring Liang’s vision to life. The variety of colors, designs, and silhouettes in this collection gives buyers and wearers a large amount of looks to choose from. If you want to go for something more lowkey, the Half Cab pair is a good bet. If you want to be just as dynamic as the collection itself, the Authentic pair might be the one for you.

If you want to get your hands on a pair of kicks from the upcoming Sandy Liang x Vans collection, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for January 28th (the collection is scheduled to hit Vans.com and SandyLiang.info). Hopefully, they aren’t too expensive.
