space jam 2 out now

For basketball fans and movie-goers, “Space Jam” is a classic. At the time of its release, it allowed fans to watch their favorite player take things to the big screen and, nowadays, helps keep the star’s legacy alive. As the new decade progresses and LeBron James cements his status as the new-age G.O.A.T, this sequel will definitely keep him on the path.

Titled “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” the film follows Bron and his son Dominic (Cedric Joe), who get stuck in the Warner 3000 Entertainment server-verse. During their entrapment, they encounter characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang, in an attempt to escape the land that is ruled by a rogue A.I. called Al G Rhythm (Don Cheadle). It’s up to LeBron and the Tunes to make it out by winning a basketball game against the Goon Squad.

The film has been rumored for years, as Lebron James has improved his game and reached similar heights to the original film’s star, Michael Jordan. Now that James is older and more seasoned, he is beginning to further dive into acting with “Space Jam: A New Legacy.”

The movie is set to release in U.S. theaters on July 16th, 2021. It stars LeBron James as himself, Don Cheadle as Al G Rhythm, Cedric Joe as Dominic James (Bron’s youngest son), Sonequa Martin-Green as Kamiyah James (Bron’s wife), Ceyair J. Wright as Bron’s oldest son (Darius James), and Harper Leigh Alexander as Xosha James, Bron’s daughter.

This film’s theatrical debut is definitely exciting, giving a new generation of movie-goers the chance to have a similar ’90s experience. The movie pays homage to the original film while still keeping things fresh with a new roster of characters. We are hoping it lives up to fans’ expectations.
