Stüssy and Nike have been coming together for some stellar collaborations recently, closing off 2020 with the release of the “Black” and “Fossil Stone” pair of Air Force 1s. With the success of their collaborative Air Force 1s, the two brands have teamed up once again, this time for a limited collection of five hand-dyed Air Force 1.
Even though it’s just a month after some of the brands’ previous collaborations, the new model comes with some nice changes/additions. Each of the five colorways in this collection are hand-dyed, representing five cities from the Stüssy world tour: London, Paris, Tokyo, New York and Los Angeles (ranging in blue, yellow, grey, green, and orange). The colors are not solid, with the hand-dyeing process combining them on the laces and upper portion of the shoe. The silhouette used for each colorway is made of a tannin upper (this is a contrast to the hemp upper used on the previous Air Force 1 collaboration). The Nike swoosh is woven, making for an interesting look that protrudes out of the shoe.
All five of the hand-dyed Air Force 1s released on January 29th without a retail price. They, of course, dropped in extremely limited quantities, keeping the sneaker exclusive. While this is great for sneakerheads who are looking to get their hands on the hottest new kicks, it’s not great for people trying to save money, as the resale price will likely skyrocket once the shoes are sold out.
