The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the way we work. Once lockdown hit and we were sent home, people realized that they were able to get a lot more done when they were in control of how their time was allotted. Aiding in the transition of working from home (full-time) is Autonomous, a brand that just released its new Work Pod.

We believe in practical, functional minimalism in all of our products—not just great looking and durable, but simple to use in order to unleash their full potential.”
The company’s practical, functional minimalism has come into full form with its new Work Pod. The Work Pod can be assembled in just eight hours by two people, and it allows the owner to “close the door on distractions” with its sound insulation while still offering a view of the outside world with its floor to ceiling glass windows. The heating/cooling unit is also a great addition to the Work Pod; the owner does not have to do any extra installation work, nor do they have to do any work for lighting. Instead, the product comes pre-wired, boasting itself as “the ultimate Lego set for adults.”
Because the Work Pod is also weatherproof, it’s perfect for the backyard. In fact, Autonomous boasts that it’s “comfortable whether its -60 or 122F outside, and securely elevated to combat insects, heat, water, and mold.” With a layered makeup of plywood, foam installation, asphalt, a wooden frame and composite wood, the Work Pod is practically begging to be set up in the backyard. It allows the user to get a peek into nature while also staying engaged in their work, serving as a balance for those wishing to continue working from home.
If you’re interested in getting your hands on the new Autonomous Work Pod, you better make sure you’ve got some funds in the bank. Why? If you’re buying it fully equipped, it comes in at a whopping $23,000 USD. Hopefully your bank will let you take out a loan or something! If you are really balling, then you’ll be able to order your own Work Pod just in time for the holidays (the estimated shipping date is December 25th, 2021).
