XO Artist Nav Claims to be Dropping an Album This Week

The “first brown boy to get it popping” is back in the rap game! Via his Instagram, Nav recently announced he is going to drop his much-anticipated album this week. The rapper just released his Brown Boy EP, hosted by CashXO and features Lil Durk. Earlier this year, Nav announced that he would be retiring and following in the steps of Lil Uzi Vert.

The album drop was announced just after Lil Uzi Vert posted a photo of the Brown Boy EP cover art and addressed him, saying “This EP is fire” and saying “Please come out of retirement @nav AND DROP YOUR ALBUM. Its gonna be lit.” Nav responded on Instagram, saying “fuck it imma just drop my real album next week!” If the rapper is being truthful, this would be his first big release since Reckless came out in May 2018.

Nav has remained fairly stagnant since the beginning of 2019. Last year was full of album releases, big features, festival performances as well as announcing retirement followed by the possibility of an album. His self-titled 2017 album initially blew him up to stardom, featuring The Weeknd in the song “Some Way,” which went platinum in the United States.

Hopefully, the rapper is telling the truth, as it would keep his yearly streak of albums going, and would give the fans the music that they need. Although it seemed as if he was following in Uzi’s footsteps, his recent actions show that he has no plans of quitting, announcing his album, releasing music, and remaining in the spotlight. Of course, this could be through the subject of memes or his music performances around the globe. Nav’s album, if all goes well, is now expected to release sometime this week. Hopefully, it consists of future anthems and exciting tracks!
